COLUMBUS, GA: A Florida-based eatery has declared August 8, 2018 as National Chicken and Waffles Day and to celebrate the first annual occasion of this popular dish the restaurant is offering a day long deal on their signature chicken and waffles at all 61 of their locations including one in Columbus.

Metro Diner is a Jacksonville, Florida based diner. The company started as a family owned diner in 1992 as a neighborhood diner. After success of being featured on Food Networks Diners, Dives, and Drive in 2010 the company grew rapidly. The store in Columbus opened in Mid-January of 2018 and has catered to guest 7 days a week since.

According to Metro Diner's home office, all day on Wednesday August 8, 2018 the chain will be offering its signature chicken and waffles dish for only $9.99. The dish normally sell for $15.99. For the remarkable sale price customers will enjoy a sweet Belgian waffle topped with Metro Diner's home made sweet strawberry butter and a half of a chicken. A regular order will include four pieces of chicken to include a wing, leg, thigh, and breast. Guest will also receive a side of the companies homemade sweet and spicy dipping sauce for their chicken.

Metro Diner's marketing team let us in on a secret to how their chicken has become some of the best in the nation. For ultimate flavor, the diner prepares their chicken for 48 priors to serving, first brining it for 24 hours and then marinating it for an additional 24 hours. This process allows the chicken to give guests maximum flavor and juiciness. The chain notes that it has sold more than a quarter of a million orders of fried chicken and waffles in just the first six months of 2018. On average the chain sells about twelve hundred orders per day, putting them on track to sell more than a million orders by the end of the year.
