New Columbus Chick Fil-A opens Wednesday

COLUMBUS, GA: The Columbus area is set to see the opening of its eighth area Chick Fil-a on Wednesday morning. The new restaurant has already created a buzz as dozens of individuals are braving the elements and camping out outside of the new Manchester Expressway location waiting for a free giveaway when the doors open Wednesday morning.

The new Chick Fil-a will open its doors at 2730 Manchester Expressway Wednesday Morning at 6:00 a.m. Before daybreak on Tuesday morning dozens of people began arriving to the parking lot of the new business in hopes of being one of the first 100 customers for the traditional one year of free food giveaway.

Residents brought tents and family members as they braved the rain showers over the area to be one of the first one hundred customers in the business when it opens its doors on Wednesday. The first one hundred guests over the age of 18 in the restaurant will receive one year of free food in the form of a card that is good for 52 free meals at Chick Fil-A.

The Manchester Expressway becomes the eighth Chick Fil-A in the Columbus-Phenix City area. Locations in the area include Peachtree Mall, Columbus State University, Midtown Medical Center, Bradley Park Drive, Wynnton Road, Beaver Ruin Road, and U.S. 280 in Phenix City.

The opening of the new Manchester Expressway store comes after the 2011 opening of a store in the Midland area of Columbus near Beaver Ruin Road and Flat Rock Road. The Manchester Expressway location began construction in March and replaces the former location of Off Price Furniture. There are other lots still open for development in the location.
