Phenix City Police Investigate Deadly Shooting Saturday Morning

PHENIX CITY, AL: Members of the Phenix City Police Department, Phenix City Fire Rescue, and Russell County Coroner are on the scene of a deadly shooting in a neighborhood located in South Phenix City this morning.

Few details have been released but the Chattahoochee Voice has learned that Phenix City Police were called in reference to a female found laying along 4th Street South in Phenix City Saturday morning.

Upon inspection it was revealed that the female appeared to be deceased from what has been described as gunshot injuries. Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry arrived on the scene located near South Seale Road around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Police sealed off a large portion of 4th Street South as they conducted their investigation near Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. There has been no identity released on the victim as family members have yet to be notified.
