36-Year-old Dead Following Columbus Shooting

COLUMBUS A 36-year-old man is dead following a fatal Wednesday evening shooting in Columbus.






A 36-year-man was killed in a shooting in West central Georgia on Wednesday evening but according to local officials.


According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan 36-year-old Michael Brown was fatally shot in the 1500 block of Harvey Avenue near downtown Columbus on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.


According to Bryan, brown suffered multiple gunshot wounds and succumb to his injuries. He was fatally shot in the 1500 block of Harvey Avenue located near Linwood Blvd in Columbus early Wednesday evening.


Brown was pronounced deceased at 6:48 pm according to Bryan after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Columbus Police have made no comment about the shooting or a possible suspect or motive at this time.


The shooting is the second fatal shooting in Georgia's second largest city since Monday. On Monday, November 6, 2023, 56-year-old Timothy Carney was fatally shot during an argument. Columbus Police have arrested a suspect in the case.


At this time limited details are available about Saturdays shooting. The case remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.
