21-Year-Old Man Killed In Columbus Shooting Sunday

Columbus police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man in the Luther C. Wilson Apartments on Sunday.
COLUMBUS, GA: Columbus police are investigating the 25th homicide in the city of Columbus in 2019. The death comes after a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in Columbus' Wilson Apartment Complex on 8th Avenue on Sunday marking the 25th homicide of the year and the 4th homicide in the city since last Sunday.

Columbus police are investigating the fatal shooting of 21-year-old K'Darious Bartlett. Bartlett was found fatally shot in at the Luther C. Wilson Apartments located at 3400 8th Avenue in Columbus on Sunday shortly after 5:00 p.m.

A representative of the Muscogee County Coroner's Office arrived on scene and pronounced Bartlett dead shortly after 6:00 p.m. Few details have been released about the shooting as of yet including a possible suspect or arrests by Columbus Police.

Bartlett is the fourth person to die as the result of a homicide in Columbus in the past week. Last Sunday two men from Albany, Georgia were fatally shot on Mellon Street in Columbus' Winterfield neighborhood. Early Tuesday morning a 36-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a residence on King Street in Columbus. The victim's brother has been arrested and charged in the death.
