COLUMBUS, GA- Columbus Police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 25-year-old man in Columbus on Sunday afternoon.



According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, 25-year-old Willi Malik Harris Jr was found fatally shot in a wooded area located off of Victory Drive near Airview Drive in Columbus on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The address is located near the 3100 block of Victory Drive.

According to Bryan, the victim had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 4:44 p.m. There has been no information on a possible suspect or arrest in the case at this time. The case is being treated as a homicide.

The fatal shooting marks the second fatal shooting in Columbus along the Victory Drive corridor in less than 24 hours. On Saturday, April 27, 2024, 77-year-old Andrew Jackson was fatally shot near a smoke shop in the 4300 block of Victory Drive. That case remains under investigation by Columbus police.

COLUMBUS, GA- Columbus Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 4300 block of Victory Drive that occurred Saturday. The shooting claimed the life of a 77-year-old man.



According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, 77-year-old Andrew Jackson was shot in the 4300 block of Victory Drive on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The shooting occurred near a local smoke shop.

Columbus first responders responded to the scene and transported Jackson to Columbus Piedmont Midtown Medical Center for treatment, where he succumb to his injuries in the hospital's Emergency Room. Jackson was pronounced dead at the hospital's ER at 7:55 p.m.

Officials have released no additional details about the shooting at this time. The case is being investigated by Columbus Police.

COLUMBUS, GA- A Columbus teen is dead after a pedestrian accident on Manchester Expressway in Columbus on Saturday night. The accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old teen shortly after he had left his nearby place of employment.



According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, 16-year-old Devonte Cage was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Manchester Expressway in Columbus near the area of the Gateway Walmart early Sunday morning. At some point initial reports indicate Mr. Cage was exiting the vehicle he was in and was struck by a second vehicle.

Bryan confirms the victim was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:08 a.m. There have been no additional details provided about the accident at this time. The case remains under investigation.

COLUMBUS, GA- Columbus homicide investigators are working a double shooting that occurred late Saturday evening in Columbus. The shooting left one teen dead and a second wounded and police searching for a suspect.



According to Columbus Police, officers were dispatched to the area of Macon Road near Lakeshore Road in reference to shots fired around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024. When officers arrived on the scene they discovered two vehicles that had gunshot defects to them. Police also discovered to individuals inside the vehicles suffering from gunshot wounds.

The two victims were transported to Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus for treatment. The first victim identified as 16-year-old Daryus Bryant succumb to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Piedmont's Emergency Room at 12:53 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

The second victim has been identified as a classmate of Bryant's. According to Columbus Police, Clarence Flavors was also transported to a Columbus area hospital and rushed into surgery. His condition is unknown at this time.

The Columbus Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit has assumed the lead in the investigation and ask anyone with any information to contact Corporal Roy Green at (706)225-4251.

The two victims were in Columbus for their high school prom which was being held in Columbus on Saturday evening. Daryus Bryant was a well known student athlete at Manchester High School and had several offers that he was pursuing. His father was is an offensive coordinator at the school and is asking people in the Columbus community to step up and bring his sons killer to justice.

The case remains under investigation.

COLUMBUS, GA-The mother of an infant that passed away last fall is behind bars after an investigation has concluded the death of 6-month-old infant warranted charges that showed the babies death was due to a homicide.



According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, 6-month-old Keniyah Gates was pronounced deceased on September 25 ,2023. Following the infants death the GBI conducted a death investigation and has ruled the child's death was due to blunt force head trauma.

Police have arrested the mother of Keniyah, Shantra Gates in connection to the infants death.

COLUMBUS, GA- Columbus police are investigating an early morning shooting that claimed the life of a 18-year-old male in Columbus.



Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirms 18-year-old Earkus Porter was fatally shot in the 700 block of Parkwood Drive in Columbus early Sunday morning. Bryan confirms Porter was pronounced dead at 2:21 a.m. and had sustained gunshot injuries.

The shooting took place on Parkwood Drive in the Belvedere Park neighborhood of Columbus. At this time police have made no announcements of an arrest or suspect in connection to the case.

The case remains under investigation by CPD's Violent Crimes Unit and further details are expected to be released later.

COLUMBUS, GA- Investigators with the Columbus Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit have announced the arrest of a 19-year-old woman in connection to the fatal shooting of a 39-year-old man last month in Columbus.



According to information released by CPD, members of the Columbus Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit arrested 19-year-old Trinity Farley on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, on warrants for murder and armed robbery.

Police suspect Farley was involved in the fatal shooting of William Brown on Monday, January 8, 2024. Police were called to the 2300 block of Fort Benning Road on January 8, in reference to a shooting. Police arrived and located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to Piedmont Midtown Medical Center where he succumb to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:51 p.m. according to the Muscogee County Coroner's Office.

In late January, CPD arrested 19-year-old Devaris Binn in connection to the death of Brown. Binn has been charged with murder and armed robbery in connection to the Brown's death and is being held in the Muscogee County Jail.

Columbus police continue to investigate the fatal shooting of Brown, which marked the first homicide in Columbus in 2024. Police note that additional arrests may be coming in connection to the case.

COLUMBUS, GA- Columbus police are investigating two crimes that occurred at a Columbus area business over the weekend. The crimes left a business burglarized and a dog dead as police look for the person responsible for the crimes.

Columbus police report on Sunday, February 11, 2024, a business located in the 800 block of 12th Street was burglarized. Police say a suspect entered the business by pulling the door open with the use of a vehicle.

The suspect then made entry into the business, where there was a dog located inside. The burglary suspect fatally shot the dog once they were inside of the business.

Police have not mentioned what was taken from the business during the course of the burglary. The incident at the business on 12th Street on Sunday is the latest in an uptick in business burglaries that CPD is investigating.

Police have not made any mention of a possible suspect or arrests at this time. The case remains under investigation.

COLUMBUS, GA- The Columbus Police Department is investigating a double shooting that took place on 12th Avenue on Sunday, February 11, 2024. The shooting left two people with injuries according to Police.



According to Columbus Police officers were called to the 2900 block of 12th Avenue on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived they located two victims, one male and one female that were suffering from gunshot injuries.

The two shooting victims were transported to Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus for treatment. Both victims injuries were listed as non-life threatening.

Shortly afterwards police announced an arrest in connection to the case. Officer's charged Adrian Roberts in connection to the shooting. Police say the case is related to a domestic incident.

Roberts has been booked into the Muscogee County Jail, where jail records show he is facing 15 charges including; aggravated assault, cruelty to children, charges related to family violence, obstruction of law officers, fleeing or attempting to elude officers, theft by taking a firearm and theft by taking an automobile, in addition to other charges. Roberts is being held in the Muscogee County Jail.

COLUMBUS, GA- Columbus police are investigating the cities latest homicide after a 48-year-old male was fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon. Police have identified a suspect in connection to the homicide and are now seeking that individual.



On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, Columbus police responded to the 900 block of Fleming Avenue in reference to a shooting. When police arrived they located at 48-year-old male that had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was transported to Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus for treatment but succumb to his injuries.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan has identified the victim as Lacoya Whittlesey, age 48. He was pronounced dead at 4:33 p.m. at Piedmont Midtown by Dr. Waldman in Piedmont's Emergency Room.

Shortly after the shooting Columbus police named a suspect in the shooting. Columbus Police are seeking to located 35-year-old Rwanda Hill in connection to the shooting. Police ask anyone with any information Hill's whereabouts to call 911. Police say she is considered armed and dangerous.

The case remains under investigation.

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA- Deputies in Central Georgia are investigating an incident Sunday night that left two homes and a car damaged by bullets and sent one person to a local hospital with a gunshot injury.



According to the Houston County Sheriff's Office on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 9:49 p.m. deputies from the agency were dispatched to the 100 block of Oakwood Drive in Bonaire in reference to a call of shots fired.

When deputies arrived the the residential neighborhood, they discovered that two residential structures had been struck by gunfire. In addition a vehicle at a third residence had also been struck by bullets.

Deputies were combing over the scene in the Oakwood Drive area, when Houston County 911 received a call of a male victim that had walked into Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins suffering from a gunshot wound. The victims injury was listed as non-life threatening.

Deputies believe that the victim at the hospital was involved in the incident that took place on Oakwood Drive. An investigation is still ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Sergeant Chris Ross at the Houston County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at (478)542-2085 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at (478)742-2330.

COLUMBUS, GA-Police in the city of Columbus, Georgia are investigating the first homicide of 2024 in the west Georgia city. A 39-year-old man died Monday evening in a shooting on the southside of the city.



Columbus police were called to an apartment in the 2300 block of Fort Benning Road on Monday, January 8, 2024, in reference to the shooting. When police arrived they located a male that had been shot inside of an apartment at the complex.

The victim was transported to Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus for treatment but succumb to his injuries. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased at 6:51 p.m.

Bryan has identified the victim as William Thomas Brown, 39. The victim sustained multiple gun shot injuries according to the coroners office. Police have not announced any suspect information at this time.

The death marks the first homicide in Columbus/Muscogee County in 2024. According to our records and tally the City of Columbus recorded 55 homicides in 2023.

Monday's homicide remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.

MACON, GA- Deputies in central Georgia were able to quickly nab a suspect after an incident unfolded in the parking lot of a Walmart store on Friday evening that left one person injured and shaken.



According to information released by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office on Friday, January 5, 2024, at around 6:20 p.m. an incident occurred in the parking lot of the Walmart store located in the 6000 block of Harrison Road.

Information released by the sheriff's office indicates that a male was sitting in the lower parking lot inside of his vehicle when he was approached by another male. The approaching male attempted to make entry into the vehicle and the driver started the vehicle. Shortly afterwards the male subject that had attempted to gain entry fired shots through the passenger window of the car.

The driver of the vehicle was injured and struck in the leg. The driver attempted to flee from suspect by driving around the back of the Walmart store and then around to the lower entrance, where he was able to run inside the store for help.

Bibb County Deputies and members of hte SRT Unit were able to nab the suspect moments later in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store located nearby. The suspect has been identified as Ja'Quan D'Oderick Andrews, age 21. He was transported to the Bibb County Jail and faces charges of Aggravated Assault. He is being held without bond at this time.

The victim in the shooting was transported Atrium Health in Macon for treatment. He is listed in stable condition. There were no other injuries reported in the incident.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

ALBANY, GA- The Albany Police Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau has turned to social media to ask for assistance to solve three on going homicide investigations from last year. Police ask anyone with information on the cases to contact law enforcement.



Albany Police are seeking to gather information and clues in the homicides of Brianna Mitchell, Kemarion Peterson, and Larry Calloway. All three persons were victims of homicides in Albany in 2023.

On August 3, 2023, 34-year-old Brianna Mitchell was one of two women shot in the 1300 block of E. Society Avenue in Albany. Mitchell was transported to Phobe Hospital in Albany, where she later died of her injuries.

Investigators with the Albany Police Department ask anyone with any information on the fatal shooting of Mitchell to contact (229)431-2100 or CrimeStoppers at (229)436-TIPS.

Just a month later on September 2, 2023, 19-year-old Kemarion Peterson was found fatally shot outside of his apartment in the 2300 block of Nottingham Way in Albany. The teen had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Albany Police ask anyone with any information on the death of Peterson to call (229)431-2100 or Crime Stoppers at (229)436-TIPS.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 23, 2023, Albany Police responded to a residence in the 800 block of 7th Avenue where they found 39-year-old Larry Calloway had been shot multiple times. He was found by the backdoor of a residence and was deceased upon arrival by first responders.

Police have turned to their social media presences as a way to attempt to help get clues in these cases and bring a level of closure to the victims families in these cases.

COLUMBUS, GA- The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office in Columbus has announced a 30-year-old man that was wanted in Georgia on murder charges was nabbed by police in Alabama on Wednesday. The suspect faces additional charges in that state related to offenses in the Yellowhammer State.



According to Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman, police in Phenix City, Alabama along with representatives of the United States Marshals Service and the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit were able to successfully apprehend 30-year-old Gerald Simpson on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Simpson was wanted by the Columbus (GA) Police Department on charges of murder. He has been named as the suspect in the murder of 36-year-old Michael Brown. According to Columbus Police, on November 8, 2023, Columbus police responded to an area of Harvey Avenue in reference to reports of a person yelling. Brown was found in the area suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a Columbus area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Columbus Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and developed leads that led them to name Simpson as a suspect.

Simpson was arrested in Phenix City, Alabama, which is just west of Columbus on the Georgia/Alabama state line. According to Sheriff Countryman he was taken into custody without incident. Police in Phenix City had outstanding warrants on Simpson for armed robbery.

He has been booked into the Russell County Jail in Phenix City and will be extradiated back to Georgia, where he faces charges of Felony Murder and Felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a crime.

In 2023 the Columbus Police Department investigated 55 homicides.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

LANETT, AL- A Georgia sheriffs deputy with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office was killed in Alabama in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 4, 2024.



According to information released by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Eric Minix was involved with the pursuit of a stolen vehicle that crossed state lines into Chambers County, Alabama.

Following the pursuit which ended in Lanett, Alabama law enforcement including Deputy Minix were attempting to apprehend the suspect and Deputy Minx was struck by another police vehicle.

Deputy Minix was transported to an area hospital for treatment but succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

According to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Minix was a dedicated deputy who also served as a K-9 officer. He leaves behind in d a wife and three daughters.

VALDOSTA, GA- Less than 24 hours into the new year and Valdosta detectives were investigating the first homicide in the South Georgia city for the new year. The death of a 30-year-old man at a local business led to the arrest of two teens within hours of his death.



According to preliminary information released by the Valdosta Police Department on Monday, January 1, 2024, at 8:23 p.m. officers with VPD responded to the Circle K store located at 425 Northside Drive in reference to a person shot.

Valdosta officers responded to the scene where they located a 30-year-old male identified as Kyle Thomas Walker suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Police report that citizens on the scene were providing first aid and attempting life saving measures. When police arrived they joined in the efforts to save Walker's life. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead of his injuries.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel with VPD descended on the scene and began their investigation. Through the course of that investigation suspects were developed. Police identified two suspects in the case. 19-year-old Sharod Rasheed Tucker and 17-year-old Keyuntay Wahsington.

On January 2, 2024, at 5 p.m. police received information about the whereabouts of Tucker in Washington and proceeded to a residence in the 1600 block of Lexington Circle. When detectives arrive they report that Tucker attempted to run from the house and a foot pursuit ensued in which Tucker was apprehended. As Tucker was fleeing police report that he was observed dropping a bag that had a stolen firearm in it.

VPD detectives made contact with Washington inside of the home and he was taken into custody without incident. Following the apprehension of the suspects, police executed a search of the home and located property which belonged to the victim in the case.

Police transported Washington and Tucker to the Lowndes County Jail, where they are being held on charges that include, felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. In addition to the above named charges, police have announced that Tucker is also facing charges of possession of stolen property-firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction of an officer, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

"This was an incredible team effort by our department. From Crime Scene Personnel working all night to recover evidence, to detectives and patrol officers working together to apprehend these dangerous subjects quickly and safely," said Chief Leslie Manahan of the Valdosta Police Deparment.

This marks the first homicide in Valdosta in 2024.

MARIETTA, GA- Police from various agencies in Cobb County responded to reports of a person shot at a newly constructed apartment complex near a busy intersection in Marietta on Wednesday morning. The shooting claimed the life of a 40-year-old man and left police searching the nearby area for a killer.



Around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, officers from the Marietta Police Department, Smyrna Police Department and Cobb County Police Department descended on the Harlow Apartment's located in the 2100 block of Cobb Parkway near the intersection of Windy Hill Road after calls went out of a person shot. The apartments are located in an area that borders the cities of Smyrna and Marietta.

When police arrived they found a 40-year-old male that had been shot multiple times. The victim has been identified as Kenneth Cunningham II. Police say Cunningham was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a resident at the apartment complex and was found shot outside of the units near the office.

Police spent a large portion of the day on Wednesday searching the nearby area for a shooter. As of nightfall police had made no announcement of an arrest in connection the the murder of Cunningham.

Law enforcement does suspect the shooting is an isolated incident and don't believe there is any threat to the general public. Police have described the shooter as a slender male that stands about six feet tall.

Police ask anyone with any information on the incident to contact law enforcement.

ATLANTA, GA- Sixteen people at a west Atlanta apartment complex started their 2024 off in a bad way after their homes were heavily damaged in a fire that broke out on Monday afternoon. Police have now arrested and charged a 37-year-old man in connection to the blaze, which is being treated as an arson.



Atlanta firefighters were called to a two story apartment building located at 1931 Joseph E. Boone Blvd. NW on Monday, January 1, 2024, at 5 p.m. in reference to a fire. When firefighters arrived they found a part of the building engulfed in flames.

By the time firefighters were able to get the blaze extinguished the fire had damaged eight units and displaced 16 residents by fire, smoke, and water damage. The American Red Cross is assisting those residents impacted by the fire.

The fire was investigated as suspicious in nature and arson was suspected. A person was taken into custody and has been identified as 37-year-old Leonard Fortner. Jail records show Fortner has been charged with arson in connection to the blaze.

Atlanta firefighters were on the scene of the fire within six minutes and worked quickly to extinguish the fire.

No other details are available at this time.

VALDOSTA, GA- Police in south Georgia are investigating a fatal shooting early Sunday morning. The shooting claimed the life of a 54-year-old man.



According to information released by the Valdosta Police Department on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 12:27 a.m., officers with the Valdosta Police Department and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to a residence located in the 800 block of East Brookwood Place in reference to a shooting.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and discovered a 54-year-old male with a gunshot wound. First aid and life saving measures were attempted but the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.

ATLANTA, GA- Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department are investigating a deadly triple shooting in the southwest part of the city on Tuesday afternoon. The shooting claimed the life of one man and left two others injured.



Atlanta police responded to reports of multiple person shot in the 300 block of Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at approximately 2:11 p.m. When officers arrived to the area they discovered three victims that had sustained gunshot injuries.

Police note that two of the victims were alert, conscious and breathing. A third victim was listed in critical condition. All three victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The victim that was listed in critical condition later succumb to his injuries and died on Tuesday.

The Atlanta homicide unit assumed the lead role in the investigation. At this the victim that died of their injuries has been identified as an 18-year-old male. All of the victims in the shooting are listed as being between the ages of 18-21.

The shooting is not believed to be a random incident and the victims were targeted in the drive-by shooting. Police say the shooters were in a white four-door sedan at the time of the shooting.

The case remains under investigation.

COBB COUNTY, GA- A multi-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning in Cobb County closed a portion of Interstate 75 and left one person dead.



An early morning accident occurred in the northbound travel lanes of Interstate 75 in Cobb County near the Cumberland Boulevard exit. Cobb Police say the crash involved at least five vehicles and occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

As a result of the action Cobb Police closed down all northbound lanes for several hours and diverted traffic to adjacent surface roadways. Police have confirmed that one person died in the accident, but not details about that victim have been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.

COLUMBUS, GA- Two people are recovering after they were wounded in a early New Years morning shooting in Columbus. The shooting took place less than one hour into the new year in the West Georgia city and sent both victims to the hospital.



Columbus police responded to an area of St. Marys Road near Irwin Way at 12:55 a.m. on Monday, January 1, 2024 in reference to a shooting. When police arrived they located two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims were transported to a local hospital in Columbus for treatment and their injuries are listed as non-life threatening. Columbus police have released no further details about the shooting at this time or a possible suspect or arrest.

The case remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.

GRIFFIN, GA- An eight and half year veteran Sheriff's deputy and army veteran was fatally wounded while responding to a call in Spalding County on Friday morning. The suspect was taken into custody after a standoff with law enforcement ended. The community now feels the hurt after losing a veteran and inspirational officer in their ranks.



Preliminary information released indicates on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. deputies with the Spalding County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home on Deason Road in reference to a welfare check. Two deputies arrived at the home and were met by gunfire from the occupant of the residence.

Law enforcement has confirmed that Todd Harper, 57, of Griffin, fired shots at the two deputies from a window with a shotgun and struck Sergeant Marc McIntyre in the head. The second officer was able to take cover and return fire towards Harper. When additional deputies arrived they were able to rescue McIntyre and transport him for treatment, but he succumb to his injuries. The second deputy received a broken hand according to law enforcement.

Sergeant McIntyre has been with the Spalding County Sheriff's Office since 2015. Prior to his tenure in law enforcement McIntyre was a member of the United States Army and had previous duty stations that included Fort Benning and Fort McPherson in Georgia. After his miliary service he worked in different roles in the New York City Public Schools.

In 2015, McIntyre joined the Spalding County Sheriff's Office where he worked as a detention officer. Just two years later in 2017, he joined the ranks of the agencies patrol division. Through his career he became a member of the Spalding County Sheriff's Department's SWAT team and was a shift supervisor at the time of his passing.

Law enforcement from various agencies responded to the home where a standoff ensued. A suspect identified as 57-year-old Todd Harper was eventually taken into custody. In remarks following the shooting on Friday, Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix said that law enforcement had been dispatched to the home on previous instances including a situation in January of 2021 when Harper barricaded himself inside of the home. No shots were fired in that incident. Harper is reported to have a history of mental struggles.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced at this time for Sgt. Harper. According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, there have been 122 police officers killed in the line of duty in the United States in 2023. In Georgia there have been five officers that have died in the line of duty this year.

A candlelight vigil will be held in Griffin on Saturday evening in honor of Sgt. Marc McIntyre.

ATLANTA, GA- Police in Atlanta have announced the arrest of a 19-year-old woman in connection to a fatal shooting at a McDonald's restaurant in the West End area of the city on Wednesday afternoon. That shooting claimed the life of a mother of four.



Around 2:42 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Atlanta police responded to the McDonald's restaurant located at 1166 Ralph D. Abernathy Boulevard SW in reference to a person shot. When officers arrived they located a female victim suffering from a gunshot injury. The victim was transported to an Atlanta area hospital where she succumb to her injuries.

Police detained a person of interest on the scene. On Thursday, APD officials confirmed that a person had been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting. Police have charged 19-year-old T'Niya Evans in connection to the shooting.

Evans has been transported to the Fulton County Jail and has been booked on charges that include; murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and theft by receiving stolen property.

The victim in the shooting has been identified as Tamanika Woods. The victims age has not been released at this time, but she is reported to be in her 30s and the mother of four children.

Witness accounts state there was a dispute inside of the restaurant on Wednesday afternoon between the two women that escalated to gunfire inside of the establishment and claimed the life of Woods.

Evans remains in the Fulton County Jail without bond.
