Teenager Injured In Shooting Wednesday Afternoon In Columbus

Columbus Police are investigating a shooting that left a 15-year-old teen injured on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
COLUMBUS, GA- A teenager is expected to survive a Wednesday afternoon shooting according to details released by the Columbus Police Department.



According to information released by CPD officers responded to the area of 1600 11th Avenue on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 around 1 p.m. in reference a person shot. The area is near the intersection of Linwood Blvd and 11th Avenue.

When officers arrived they discovered a 15-year-old juvenile had been shot in the arm. The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The injures are considered to be non-life threatening. Police have released no details about a possible suspect in the shooting at this time.

The shooting was reported on the same day Columbus Police investigated a deadly shooting and car crash on Hood Street in Columbus. That shooting claimed the life of a 33-year-old man and remains under investigation.
